This course will look at sleep patterns, what affects our ability to sleep well and most importantly provide practical tips for getting off to sleep and staying asleep. It will not consider specific sleep disorders such as sleep apnoea, REM sleep disorder, narcolepsy or chronic insomnia.
By the end of this course, you will:
- Understand sleep and sleep problems
- Know how much sleep is recommended for different groups of people
- Understand different types of sleep and sleep patterns
- Discuss causes of sleep problems and identify the ones you may have
- Consider ways to overcome sleep problems and identify good sleep habits
- Practise relaxation techniques to help prepare for sleep.
