What is meditation?

Meditation is the art of focusing on something (such as a picture, a sound, or our own breathing) to encourage attention, awareness, and achieve a mentally clear state.

What are the benefits of meditation?

 Many people start meditating to manage their stress and/or anxiety levels. Meditation can also help with:

  • Increasing our focus.
  • Increasing our mental resilience.
  • Decreasing our blood pressure and heart rate.
  • Decreases in blood pressure, heart rate and cholesterol levels, thanks to its stress-lowering properties.
  • Increasing our positive emotions and compassion.

This series of 4 meditations, focuses on:

  • Breath meditation – 8 minutes
  • Body scan meditation – 19 minutes
  • Compassion meditation – 10 minutes
  • Visualisation meditation – 10 minutes
