The aim of this educational session is to discuss Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia in the context of neuroimaging. Using a question and answer style, the session provides an opportunity for the audience to interact with the presenters and ask questions they wish to explore.
By the end of this course, you will:
- Understand the main techniques used in Dementia research: MRI and PET, and what they measure
- Understand the changes seen in Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease from a biological perspective (e.g. memory loss, confusion); and what it may mean for someone with the illness and their support network
- Understand current research in terms of the role of vascular disease in Dementia
- Understand why neuroimaging research is important.
